3 Sisters - Commission by Doctor-Pencil 3 Sisters - Commission by Doctor-Pencil
:wow: I FINALLY finished my largest drawing EVER. Well not largest dimensions, but 3 faces, 3 smiling mouths and LOTS of hair :D:D

This is a PHOTO, not a scan. Too large to scan. I will reload better photos later. It's slightly out of focus, and there is no WAY to see all the tiny details I put into this. Like the hundreds of hair strands I first scratched into the paper.

TIME: 25+ hours
SIZE: 13x16 inches
PAPER: Bristol Smooth 300 series
PENCILS: Staedtler Mars Lumograph H, HB, F, B, 2B

I was hired by a girl in Texas to draw her (far right) and her 2 sisters as a mothers day gift.

I will upload individual shots later as well :D:D

Just a fantastic piece. I was just curious, has it arrived yet? It would be such a tragic loss for this to not be enjoyed in person. The good ol USPS.

Wow again mate.

Really really good.

Strathmore 300. Would you say that was you paper of choice?

I am toying with trying 300 of really going mad and trying 500. Any suggestions?

Thinking of moving up to A3 size and want to make the right choice.

I only use Bristol Smooth 300 series. Accidentally got 400 series once and didn't like it :( As for A3 etc, no clue cuz that's metric? Besides, I get 14x17 inch pads, then cut each page into 4 sections 7x8.5 inches each) and draw one portrait per piece :D:D

wow Rick this is amazing..i was thinking today about using a larger scale drawing..its so hard getting those very fine
details on A4. i probably rank this piece as one of ur best..keep up the great work!!

I have no clue what A4 is. Regardless of the size of the paper, I NEVER draw to fill a page. I ALWAYS make borders around the drawing on the page AFTER I determine how big it should be, abased on a few things. Size of eyes, etc. Revisit my tip guide link below. UPDATED :D:D
