"DRAWING FROM LINE TO LIFE" by Mike Sibley is the is the ONLY drawing book I own. I HIGHLY recommend it!
When I first started drawing again (after 30 years) I ran across this book on the web, and liked what I read online, so I ordered it. I later ended up taking his workshop in 2009 when he toured the USA. Don't be misled that it seems to be about drawing dogs. That's just his passion. Like he says, "If you can draw well, you can draw ANYTHING". I have found that to be so true! When the book arrived (from England) I read EVERY single word like it was the Bible or something! It covers EVERY aspect of drawing, and I learned SO much from it! I really need to re-read it again. It's THAT good! I get nothing for promoting his book by the way, other than trying to help my fellow artists, in case you were wondering
One of my dreams is to write a HOW-TO draw portrait book one day, but until then, this book is worth every penny! It's not cheap either. It's about $55 US dollars.

Take a look at the Contents page! It's covers EVERYTHING!!
Hope you get it!!
