I hesitated on even submitting this! It's more of a sketch for me really, since I did not BLEND the way I normally do, and left out lots of details. I could not find a good pic of him that was also high quality, and this is only 4x5 inches (10 x 14 CM) small....SO, contrary to what some of my friends here think, every drawing can NOT be a masterpiece LOL
You're being too hard on yourself--this is better than anything I've ever done...
we are always hardest on ourselves?
Another great portrait! and you got Dennis's lovely grin
For you it's not a masterpiece...but you have done a good work too on this portrait!!!
Got to just have fun every once in while and pound something out simple. Looks really great!
i love dennis
u did a great job

Awesome as always
i think its fantastic..i prefer seeing drawings that no one else does..and everyone does the hi res pics..or the professional shoot pics that are air brushed to death..i like seeing the bags under the eyes..age lines..5 oclock shadow..which makes me really want to see your hugh laurie..love him..its the only tv show i watch..that and chelsea lately..you should do her..come to think of it..i should too..lol
ya me too. I just finished Hugh Laurie and i am very happy with it. I think you will like it. Should post tomorrow, but going out of town till tuesday. may have to wait?
i think you have done well with it rick, and yes u are right you canonly do your best at what you can see. larger image/better quality is a big big help indeed.
good one! i REALLY like the trend that seems to be going in some of your more recent drawings - that of having more shading/depth/texture/etc to the face (i'm not sure how to explain what i mean exactly). but if you compare like.. your recent Nicolas Cage and Jim Carrey ones to your Colin Farrel and Joaquin Phoenix ones, personally I greatly prefer the two former. Not that the latter two aren't well done, but I think your drawings particularly stand out as being exceptional when the open areas of the face aren't just left mostly white.
yes I do too. It seems I am getting to be ONLY inspired by unusual expressions, hard shadows, and high contrast? After 100+ portraits in my first year, I'm starting to feel like I must out-do myself with each new one lol. I do have some good ones lined up to do. Finishing Hugh Laurie now. He has band-aides over his mouth. Different?
Looks just like him. So green with envy...
lol damn and I almost did not post it. It lacks the details I normally like to do...it was a bad photo to work from. I will never learn, ha!
wow, amazing, like always... you ARE a genius is it too much if I ask you to make me a portrait?
hehe thanks! Well it depends...what did you have in mind?? I'm kind of backed up with drawing Christmas gifts and commission work, and the ones I draw for myself.
Great Work Bro
