the WAY the TRUTH the LIFE by Doctor-Pencil the WAY the TRUTH the LIFE by Doctor-Pencil
I have been wanting to draw this exact photo of Christ since I started drawing 2 years ago! I finally found this screen shot from the movie The Passion [link]
For me, it was the best, most human expression he had, as he stated, "You know that I am the way, the truth, and the life" (John 14:6)

You guessed it…I’m a believer! I love Him! His word says, "This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an propitiating sacrifice for our sins" (1 John 4:10). It's our response to Him first loving us, that even gives us a chance of loving Him back, and until you understand that He loves you perfectly, accepts you just as you are, forgave you completely on the cross, offers you spiritual life along with his righteousness and holiness, then there is no way in the world for you to love Him back.

He's my spiritual LIFE, my savior and my best friend! He is my source of strength, and I believe he gave me the ability to draw, so I could eventually bring glorify to Him…somehow? Of course, He left it up to me to practice, and I didn’t want to draw this until I felt like I could do Him justice :D

For those who have NEVER heard the FULL gospel, or only heard a “half Gospel”, or all you ever heard was that God’s mad at you, or God is on some type of swivel chair, then you NEED to check this out here: [link]

I usually freak people out when I tell them I hate religion! I do, but guess what, so does Jesus! I’m talking about man-made religion. Christianity is NOT a religion, although people made it one. It's supposed to be a personal relationship with our creator. Religion is nothing but traditions, smoke, mirrors, candles, robes, sermons in Latin you can't say amen to (no offense to my Latin friends) but most of all…LEGALISM, which is modern day Galatianism! I usually go to Bedside Baptist church with Pastor Pillow, (That’s a funny way of saying I usually don’t go to church :D:D HA), because I can’t find a good church that understands the full GRACE message, and the NEW COVENANT (testament) we stand under today. There is SO much false teaching out there it makes me sick!!

For those who judge Christianity based on the ability of your neighbor to behave, or to NOT be a hypocrite, it’s a real mistake! Christ is not real to me because of all the neat and wonderful Christians I see (very few and me included), He is real to me because I FIRST chose to believe, and He THEN gave me evidence for my Free Will CHOICE to first believe. He also changed my life, which was no easy task, ha! I’ve been around the block! I have struggled with everything a person can struggle with in this life, and over time, He set me free! You see, God works completely opposite to “the world”. The “world” says, “show me, and THEN I will believe”. OR “I will believe it when I see it with my own two eyes”. However, God says, “Believe, and THEN I WILL SHOW YOU”. Kinda like when Indiana Jones took that step of faith, and THEN the bridge appeared :D:D Give it a try. You have absolutely NOTHING to loose! Oh wait, I guess you do?!?

Rick, Amazing where these drawings show up.  Our church here in South Carolina was doing an Easter presentation.  A slide show of Easter related images was being shown while the choir sang.  Your image ..."The Way, The Truth, The Life" appeared amongst the images.  Very Cool.  I dont know whether it was something the church put together or if it was a part of the media package produced by thestory.org

Love it, Rick!  Wednesday during Bible study time our group was discussing what we thought were indicators of a successful church in a local bagel shop for breakfast.  Several things were said and all sounded reasonable.  One of our group said, if people drive by our church and see that the parking lot is full, then that is a good indication of a successful church program.   I said, you know what scripture says about a successful church?  "They will know you are my disciples by your love for one another."  Shortly later, a guy walked up to our table and said he had been listening to what we were saying.  He looked at me and said, you're exactly right... It's about love.

How wonderful! Your message is so true, If more people would just look beyond the organized religions out there that are formed for mostly "Profit" and look to the real message of JESUS, I too miss a lot of church services mainly for the judgmental folks (My son and I both have long hair) and the monetary issues with most churches, but I am a christian and have my own relationship with JESUS, I'm getting off my soapbox now! :), Thank you for this message, it really means a lot at this time in my life to read good news like this and see such fantastic artwork also!

This is a beautiful piece of work. Really. And I wholeheartedly agree with you on your view of Jesus and God. Its sad how in this day and age people assume that being a Christian just means " going to church" and being hypocritical and judging to people.

You said above:

"I usually freak people out when I tell them I hate religion! I say:

Bravo! I absolutely agree! : )) Here's a tidbit for you reaffirming the validity of this feeling we share...

the actual latin term "religion" was a derogatory term used by the early roman believers in christ (the ones persecuted by rome and who lived in the catacombs as a result of that persecution). The specific derogatory term "religion" was a three participle latin word indicating the difference between genuine christions who had *relationship with the God who set them free** as opposed to the false christians who went about seeking power wealth and influence by twisting the gospels into a satanicly inspired hideous method of gaining power prestige and wealth by (and this is key to understanding this) by BINDING AGAIN mankind to the guilt of the law, a law which none could keep and none did keep but the Messiah Himself, Who as He said "if the SOn sets you free you are free indeed."

Latin participles: RE = (as in recurrance) AGAIN
LIG = (as in ligate or ligature/rope) to BIND / BINDING
ION = (as in addiction) THE PRACTICE OF

Put together, "Religion" referred to "THE PRACTICE OF BINDING AGAIN" ie: That which Christ has set free.

You are absolutely correct in stating the Messiah was a hater of religion, one honest glance at Matthew Chapter 23 verse 1 through 39. By the way.... in verse 39?.... he is referring to the one day they say that verse together yelling up toward the high priest as he stands representing them on the temple mount as their returned (from behind the veil) High Priest.... only on the Day of Atonement! : )))

Amen and Amen indeed! : )

I am currently writing a book about the specifics of Biblical Prophetic Time, I've studied it in the original languages of the Bible for decades and will have it ready for print (shortly) before Matthew 23:39 comes to pass! : )

Time to lift up our heads now! : )

Thanks my friend! Examined tested then bookmarked! : )

At 55 (37 of which were largely comprised of exceptionally heavy biblical study pertaining to prophecies and historical evidences/apologetics, 20 of those being in the original languages and including deep extra-biblical cultural study (Mishnas etc.) to fully grasp many things not clearly or directly or fully referred to in the New Testament as they were common "wisdom" in that culture when the New Testament was written) I have a few years on you, yet I know very well that **all** who truly seek the truth (without bias) are blessed with the revelation of it no matter how long they do so, God clearly rewards the genuine diligence of those seeking to understand Him and walk with Him in His Truth.

The things I teach are that which overflows from a very full cup constantly filled with exactly that blessing, I am a teacher by calling, not a pastor, and a very careful one, I know my place. ; )

I know this comment section on your very awesome image is not the place to discuss such things and share such blessings in any depth, so I'll just offer a few "for instance's" without biblical proof and see whether God may have led you down similar study roads at some point... If so, I will be convinced of the significance of us sharing further biblical study revelations as a possible priority, and I am sure you have as many priorities as I do! : )

Note: the following are points for potential future discussion, not to be answered here! ; )

1 - (Genesis) Why is it that the Sun and Moon did not appear until the Fourth Day?

2) - (Exodus) Why did God give the Israelites a second calendar to observe on a full moon day stating that this day shall be unto you as a new moon?

3) - (Leviticus) Why is there a provision only in the Nazirite Law for the docking of time (ie: like paycheck docking, the time occurs but is not counted under specific circumstances, just as in the specific Greek of Matthew 24:22 ?

4) - (Gospel of John, Chapter 1) In Genesis (Hebrew literal: "In [the] beginning" / "bereshiyth" in Hebrew / "Genesis" in Greek, or "In the beginning" in English, and thus the Hebrew title of the first scroll/book of Moses which John was very specifically referring to) the third Hebrew word (of the Hebrew Bible in Genesis) is the first mention of Elohim ("God" although plural and singular in Hebrew), yet the fourth Hebrew word is WITH this third word "God," and Rabbis even to this day teach that all visible and non-visible existence was (and still is) created through this fourth word and that this fourth word, which appears in no other Biblical text language translation of Genesis, ONLY in the Hebrew) actually IS God as well. Indeed the fifth Hebrew word "bara" (Hebrew meaning: "create from nothingness") begins the account of God creating both the heavens and the earth etcetera THROUGH the combination of God and this fourth word that is with God in the specific context there.

According to John THAT Word, the one COMBINED WITH GOD, IS God, and of all the things in heaven or on earth and which John COULD have started his Gospel account with, to explain something absolutely fundamental to understanding the identity of the Messiah.. he chose THIS VERY specific subject, for very good reason! ; )

You see... this little-known (outside Orthodox Hebrew circles that is) word which John painstakingly tried to clarify in relation to the Messiah and His BECOMING flesh (ie: Christ who always is, even before time and after time - becoming Yehoshuah/Jesus who had to become flesh/be born in the course of time) is a word pronounced "Eyth" and is comprised of the first and last (Hebrew= Alepth and Thav / Greek equivalent= Alpha and Omega) and thus represents according to ancient and current [orthodox] Hebrew teachings THE "alephbet" or "alphabet" of Hebrew, and further... (and this gets very profound and important to us) designates that the very letters of Hebrew are FULL of meaning with each being ASPECTS of God.

Proof: Ever notice the relationship between the NAMES in Hebrew of Biblical characters and what their mission was in life or the final significance of their life prophetically? ALL our NAMES, to this day, regardless of language can be transliterated into Hebrew, and STILL designate specifc life callings or missions.

THIS ALONE, is why "Saul" (of Tarshish), whos' name meant in Hebrew letters "the Devourer of the Flock / Teaching" upon coming to Christ (on the third day in the House of Judah) CHANGED HIS NAME IMMEDIATELY to "PAUL".... the Hebrew meaning of which according to the Hebrew letters means "SPOKESPERSON of the FLock/Teaching."

Then he went on to fulfill his name, writing 3/4 of the New testament.

You see, Saul... understood what John referred to, and so do I! : )))

Correction:

""Eyth" and is comprised of the first and last (Hebrew= Alepth and Thav / Greek equivalent= Alpha and Omega)""

Should read:

"Eyth" and is comprised of the first and last letters of the Hebrew "alephbet" or alphabet (Hebrew= Alepth and Thav / Greek equivalent= Alpha and Omega)"

2nd correction (remind me to have more coffee before I type, lol):

"Indeed the fifth Hebrew word "bara" (Hebrew meaning: "create from nothingness") begins the account of God creating both the heavens and the earth etcetera THROUGH the combination of God and this fourth word that is with God in the specific context there."

SHOULD read:

Indeed the second Hebrew word "bara" (Hebrew meaning: "create from nothingness") begins the account of God (3rd word AND forth word / "Elohim Eyth") creating both the heavens and the earth etcetera THROUGH the combination of God and this fourth word that is with God in the specific context there.
